That's right. Make some nourishing gummy treats with your kombucha and some gelatin!
Gelatin is a traditional food and a sustainable by-product, rich in collagen and has long been known to support healthy skin, hair and nails. Gelatin also contains glycine, an amino acid that promotes a healthy mucosal lining in the gut, secretion of digestive enzymes, controls blood sugar and improves sleep quality.
We’re sharing a simple recipe to make your own kombucha gelatin gummies, and you can opt to add your choice of fruits. Use plain or even flavoured kombucha. And we recommend not adding sugar to make this a healthy treat, though if you want to you can add some honey for some added sweetness.
If gelatin is not suitable, you can use agar-agar (follow the same amount).
This makes a super healthy and tasty treat for both kids and adults, ENJOY!
1-2 cups kombucha
4 tbsp gelatin
1 cup chopped fruit of choice
honey to taste (optional)
Puree your fruits and set them aside
Warm 1/2 cup of your kombucha over a low heat ( NOT to boil )
Whisk in the gelatin and honey (if using)
Remove from heat and whisk in the fruits and remaining kombucha
Pour into any preferred mold (baking pans and bowls work too!)
Refrigerate to set for about 2 hours (minimum)
And... it's ready to serve! (keep up to 3 days in the fridge)
